All the accessories for high-pressure cleaners
A high-pressure cleaner is an excellent ally for the cleaning of gardens, cars, driveways, verandas, garden furniture, bicycles and much more besides. But not only that, with the same tool it is also possible to carry
out small maintenance task, such as he cleaning of roofs, gutters, drains or manholes, even removing paint from gates.
High-performing and fast, high-pressure cleaners are in fact extremely versatile, especially thanks to the many accessories included in the pack or sold separately, which ensures always having the right product at the right time.
How to understand which one to use for the specific cleaning operation and how to always maximise the use of your high-pressure cleaner Let's look at all the accessories and discover how they can simplify your cleaning.
Gun and lance: essential for every high-pressure cleaner
The essential tools when using a high-pressure cleaner are the gun and the lance. With the gun it is possible to manoeuvre the jet. This accessory is positioned between the high-pressure hose and the lance and thanks to the trigger or lever it is possible to remotely control the water outlet. There are different types of guns, which vary in size, composition and method of attachment.
The lance, instead, consists of a rigid plastic or metal body, which is attached to the gun by means of a quick coupling or screw (M22). There are different types of lances: straight or angled, simple or with head, with fixed or adjustable jet. The most popular high-pressure cleaner lances are:
- High-pressure lances, which vary in terms of the head, which can be fixed, rotating or with adjustable jet, but also in the shape that can be straight or curved: in the latter case they are ideal, for example, for cleaning the underbody or of the wheel arch of the car;
- Foaming lances, which allow the addition of detergent directly into a tank connected to them. The substance is suctioned up, combined with water and then sprayed onto the surface. In this way it is possible to achieve a high level of cleanliness, avoiding waste, because the chemical action of the detergent is combined with the mechanical action of pressurised water;
- Sandblasting lances, ideal to remove encrustations, paints, graffiti or rust. Here the jet is mixed with sand or other substances, such as bicarbonate, thus having an abrasive but delicate function.
High-pressure hose
The high-pressure hose is positioned between the high-pressure cleaner and the gun, which is able to contain the flow of water even at high pressure. The one supplied has various sizes and can be extended with dedicated extension tubes that can be used to expand the operator's range of action.
High-pressure hoses differ in the type of material they are made of and, of course, in the length of the hoses. Thus we have PVC hoses and rubber hoses. The lengths can vary from 3m up to 10m. The longer and sturdier the high-pressure hose is, the better it will be possible to work without having to move the machine from the initial working position.
How to choose the right nozzle for each type of dirt
The nozzle is positioned at the end of the lance. Made of plastic, brass, stainless steel, ceramic or other materials, these accessories allow the water jet to exit at high pressure, with specific shapes and directions. Choosing the right nozzle is essential to obtain the desired excellent level of cleanliness. On a delicate surface, for example, it will be important to work with a nozzle with a wide angle; on specific and particularly encrusted dirt it is advisable to opt for a narrow angle.
The main nozzles for high-pressure cleaners are:
- Concentrated or 0° jet nozzles, which allows the jet to be particularly effective. It is useful for cleaning very encrusted or particularly thin areas, such as tile and swimming pool grouting;
- Blade or fan nozzles, the most used solution, ideal on most surfaces. In this case the angle oscillates between 15° and 40° and the jet comes out exactly with the typical shape of an open fan;
- Rotating jet nozzles, where the water comes out in a conical and rotating shape. This improves the cleaning effect and allows the jet to increase its strength in contact with the surface being washed. The pressure using the rotating nozzles is the maximum operating pressure that can be obtained from each individual high-pressure cleaner.
A particular type of nozzle is the one fitted with the pipe cleaning hose. This accessory is equipped with multidirectional retroactive jets and is therefore the perfect solution for the maintenance of gutters, manholes and pipes in general. Once the jet has been activated, in fact, the water pressure allows the probe to move forward, acting on debris, foliage and encrustations, removing them and restoring the normal flow of water. There are both pipe purge probes for unblocking external pipes with a diameter of approximately 8/10 centimetres, and domestic purge probes, thinner and more finely structured which are perfect for unblocking internal drains with a smaller diameter (4/6 centimetres) and with curves of up to 90°.
The cleaning of any surface thanks to the floor cleaning accessories
High-pressure cleaners are also ideal solutions for the cleaning of large surfaces, such as outdoor floors or walls. To obtain the best results in the shortest time, avoiding wasting water and detergent, it is possible to use certain essential accessories, such as:
- Fixed or rotating brushes, ideal for cleaning delicate surfaces, such as windows or car wheel rims;
- Accessories for washing surfaces, for the cleaning of patios, walls and pavements;
- Kit for the washing of solar panels, with telescopic extension and ultralight surface washer.
Other accessories for high pressure cleaners
There are many accessories for high-pressure cleaners, functional both for cleaning and for the correct management or maintenance of the product itself. In addition to the most common, it is possible to equip the instrument with:
- Filters, to prevent any water impurities from entering the high-pressure cleaner pump;
- Hose reel, to make your high-pressure cleaner more compact and tidy, also simplifying its storage after use.
