What is the Panda d’Oro Awards?

Now in its 14th edition, the Panda d’Oro Awards is one of the most important awards for Italian companies operating in China. Created by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China (CICC), with the support of the Italian Embassy, the Italian General Consulate in Shanghai, and the collaboration of the Italian Cultural Institutes in Beijing and Shanghai, this award is an important recognition that celebrates the innovation, tradition, and courage of all those Italian companies that have decided to invest in China with a respectful and visionary approach.

Among the most important categories awarded in 2025 are the Innovation Award, the Italian Excellence Award, the Italian Taste Award, the Destination Italian Award, and the Sustainability Award, a wide range of themes that celebrate the diversity of Italian excellence around the world.

In 2025, the Panda d’Oro Awards was also an opportunity to celebrate the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and China and the centenary of Treccani, a symbol of Italian knowledge, with the presence of its General Director, Massimo Bray.

Lavor China, 20 years of Italian-made quality

Lavor China is the Chinese production branch of Lavorwash. Established in 2005, the opening of the Mantua-based company’s easternmost headquarters was the result of an important strategic decision, which led Lavor to adapt to an increasingly geolocalized market in Asia, without neglecting its founding values, starting with the protection of Made in Italy.

In the 1990s, the production methods for major electrical and electronic appliances, as well as decorative items, clothing, and much more, changed and moved the most European production to China.

In the early 2000s, Lavor also adapted to this change, but chose an approach that remained faithful to its founding values of quality, innovation, and consumer protection.

Unlike many companies in the sector, Lavor decided to insource the Chinese production of hobby high pressure cleaners: while many companies began to outsource production to third parties, then purchasing appliances under their own brand, Lavor opted for a counter-current approach to ensure production quality in line with its other plants in Italy.

Thus, for 20 years, Lavor has been protecting the Made in Italy label even in its most distant plants, maintaining the vision that has characterized all its lines since 1975 and establishing itself as a leader in the cleaning sector.

Another excellent milestone for Lavor’s 50th anniversary

Participation as a Silver Sponsor in the Panda d’Oro Awards once again underlines the consistency of the brand, and does so in conjunction with another important event: the celebration of the company’s first 50 years.

Established in 1975 in the province of Mantua, Lavor now has 380 employees, with a strategic positioning spread across 130 countries. In half a century of history, the Italian company has managed to carve out an important space within the cleaning market, focusing on four areas that are essential for its growth:

  • The quality management system, which covers the entire company;
  • The research and development system, from design to operational functions, for cutting-edge products designed to simplify every cleaning task and enhance performance;
  • The market monitoring system, focusing on brand reliability;
  • An efficient after-sales system that is well distributed throughout the territory.

The Lavor cleaning product range

Today, Lavor boasts a wide range of hobby and professional cleaning products, focusing on the continuous updating of its existing lines and new and interesting cutting-edge offer for an efficient and increasingly green cleaning system.

In 2025, the company’s flagship product remains the hobby high pressure cleaner, which accounts for 90% of Lavor’s entire production and is available in over 100 models, differing in price, power, pressure, and operational functions, guaranteeing the quality, efficiency, and performance that have always distinguished all Lavor models.
